This fall we launched an extensive branch of the herbal medicine program called The Apothecarist, in which students will learn the craft of making everything from food medicines to professional tinctures, salves, essential oils, tonics, teas and more.

The Apothecarist: Toxin-Free Body Products is a great place to start learning about creating home formulas — beginning with the items we have the closest contact with on our skin.

Chemical sensitivity to a barrage of synthetic perfumes, lathering agents and moisturizers extends beyond cleaning products.  Shampoos, deodorants, toothpastes, lotions and an entire industry of body-care products are filled with chemicals.

Learn the very simple basics of making your own products from natural ingredients that are either already in your kitchen, or easy to get.

This class will introduce you to ingredients, recipes, and techniques that will allow you to take control of your body, you home, and your wallet! In “Apothecarist: Toxin-Free Body Products”, learn how to make your own effective head-to-toe body care supplies.

Students in this class will:

* Learn how to put together a body care “pantry”

*Learn how to make, store, and use a variety of body care products

*Receive a handout packet with class notes and resource guide

*Take home a selection of samples to try

Class Tuition: $35
**Plus  $10 materials fee due to the instructor at the class (this covers the samples)

Location: Herban Path location, Central San Antonio.
