Midwife Stories from the Field – Wednesday, August 3.
7pm -8:30 pm Central time
Please join us for this free webinar where Mel Bailey interviews Katia LeMone regarding midwifery stories from the field. Katia has been attending births since 1984 and working as a registered midwife since 1991. She has experience on the US/Mexico border, East Africa and presently in a Mennonite Community in Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua, Mexico. Discussion will be centered around experiences in out-of-hospital births and the need for people to be ready for emergency birth situations. This is a story night, pull up a cuppa your favorite drink and join us on a journey of stories of laughter, tears and passion for a topic that is near and dear to both of these women. Katia is an instructor at the Herbal Medic Academy and will be teaching the upcoming Meconium Hit the Fan webinar – an Emergency Childbirth and Childbearing Herbs course. Mel has been attending births since 1997; she is a midwife, trained in the Philippines in 2003 and a veteran of the Barefoot Midwives program of Baton Rouge following Hurricane Katrina.
