The February 5-day course is for students who are either already enrolled in the Wilderness Herbal First Responder course, or for someone taking the course for a Wilderness First Aid certification.
——————————————-
Students who have completed Session 1 have access to over 12 hours of pre-recorded, online webinars, downloadable materials (and several additional hours of webinar and other videos, documents and handouts, etc.) allow the student to become familiar with practical herbal medicine and herbal first aid as practical and viable alternatives in the field when there may be no higher definitive care available. Please note that the online portion is ONLY available to students taking the full WHFR (i.e. parts 1 and 2).
Herbal medicine is also integrated to a small but important extent throughout some portions of the on-site course where appropriate.
Part 2 runs 2/13 to 2/17. This two part course is the same curriculum as presented in the normal 10 day program, with the exception that there will be a little bit more time devoted to scenarios and hands-on experience overall.
For students who cannot take the whole course, but can take either part 1 or part 2, it is possible for them to obtain a 16-hour Wilderness First Aid certification (card issued through Emergency Care and Safety Institute).
