We are offering an 8-hour Wilderness First Aid certification (through ECSI) on Friday, March 27th, in DALLAS, TX, as a pre-conference event.
If you are attending this event, the cost is $70 which includes a book and a WFA cert card that is good for 2 years. We will cover the basics of wilderness medicine- patient extrication, moving, bandaging and splinting, a very useful ankle and knee stabilization wrap and building a good first aid kit.
If you are not attending the conference, the cost is $90.
WFA subjects include:
· Extrication – Field expedient methods for moving a victim, basic knot/lashing concepts
· Splinting & bandaging
· Carries and drags for moving an injured victim
· Ankle and knee stabilization through advanced wrapping
Students will go home with a 2nd Edition spiral-bound copy of Wilderness First Aid Field Guide, by Alton L. Thygerson, and a WFA certification card from Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) that is good for 2 years.
Tuition: $70 for those attending the Field & Tactical Medicine Conference.
$90 for those not attending the conference.
