The 2024 Apothecarist Program

The Apothecarist Program is a very different kind of herbal medicine making program!

This botanical medicine making program was founded in 2015 by Suchil Coffman. The Apothecarist program explores the processes of making herbal products as a profession. We use a wide range of techniques, materials and herbs to give students a greater exposure to working in their own apothecary.

The Apothecarist Program is a 360+ hr. intensive study program and can be completed in an Accelerated Track of nine months.

In addition to the history of the apothecary trade, students will get extensive training in the making of both internal and external herbal preparations as well as important product preparation information every practicing apothecarist should know.

The program is divided into (2) interactive online foundation courses, a series of 2-hour maker’s workshops students can choose from, and a total of (5) advanced intensives.  All courses include herbal materials that are mailed out to students.

To receive the Apothecarist Program Certificate, students must complete both online sections, the advanced intensives, and a minimum of 3 of the 15 offered maker’s workshops.

Redlands, CA April 4th & 5th, 2027 Clinical Herbalism students and Apothecarist students pursuing completion of either program are eligible to apply for a spot on
