This will be a fun hands-on class for those who want to learn how to preserve seasonal food using the hot-bath canning method.  We will cover basic canning steps, safety and get right to work with winter foods.

Canning is not just for the summer harvest!  Seasonal fruits, root vegetables and more are available all year round, and the best time to preserve them is when they are in season and very fresh.

Students will all get a chance to create three different recipes,  try their hand at the canning process and go home with one of each of the three batches, which will likely include a:  cranberrry ginger sauce, an in-season citrus curd or preserves and a savory sauce, such as a brown-ale or dijon mustard blend.

A light snack will be served in this 4-hour class, and all materials are included.

Tuition: $45, includes all materials and 3 canned jars for students to take home.
